Technical and Design Support for Soil Remediation Project in Florida
Aurora View is part of a soil remediation project currently underway in Florida. This project aims to address contamination caused by 4,4’-dichlorobenzophenone (DCBP), a man-made chemical compound. Our team of experienced engineers and designers provide remote technical and design support to the project’s site personnel, ensuring the project’s success.
DCBP is a chemical used in various industrial processes. Unfortunately, improper handling or disposal can lead to soil contamination. This poses a significant environmental risk, as DCBP can migrate into groundwater and harm ecosystems.
The chosen remediation method for this project is In-Situ Solidification (ISS) with soil mixing. This advanced technique involves injecting stabilizing agents directly into the contaminated soil. The stabilizing agents mix with the soil, solidifying it and encapsulating the DCBP molecules. This process immobilizes the contaminant, preventing it from spreading and posing a threat to the environment.
Additionally, we utilized Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to create detailed maps of the contaminated area. This allows us to visualize the extent of contamination, plan the ISS treatment strategically, and track the progress of the remediation effort.
At Aurora View, we are committed to developing and implementing innovative solutions for environmental challenges. We are proud to be a part of this project and contribute to a cleaner and healthier Florida.
